CARAMEL COLOUR
Sicna manufactures many types of caramels, which are included in the four classes listed in the directive 94/36/CE of the European Union, namely E150a, E150b, E150c and E150d. These caramels, obtained by glucose, a blend of glucose-saccharose or saccharose are suitable for every food application or specific requirement. |

class "a" is mostly used in the food industry for a great number of applications, in particular in confectionary and spirits.
class "b" is the "reference class" for our customers involved in manufacturing spirits, ice creams and in many other food applications.
class "c" is the colouring of stouts but also baking products, food sauces and meat-based products.
class "d" is typically used in soft drink production. |

BURNT SUGAR
Burnt sugar is obtained by the controlled heating treatment of the saccharose without technical adjuvants. This process gives the finished product some "aromatic" qualities besides colour. The most "classic" application for burnt sugar products is confectionary, bakery products and spirits, but also whenever a product is required to give more marked organoleptic features. |
